Today, we took a short trip to Ricketts Glen State Park, arriving just after lunchtime. After checking into the campground and grabbing a bite to eat, we headed straight for the waterfalls walk in the park.
The walk was absolutely stunning, following a river with waterfalls around every corner. Normally, it’s a loop trail featuring 21 waterfalls, but due to some rockfalls, we had to hike in and then back out again, only catching sight of 18 falls. Still, if you count going in and out, that’s like seeing 36, right?
The trail was quite a workout, consisting of steep rocky stairs all the way downhill. It took us a good two hours to reach the bottom, including plenty of stops for photos. Surprisingly, the hike back up only took us an hour.
By the end of it, we were both pretty exhausted but felt rejuvenated after a refreshing shower. Tomorrow, we’re planning to check out Watkins Glen, as everyone has been raving about its beauty.
The campground we stayed at was lovely, and for dinner, we whipped up some tasty tofu noodles.
