Woken up today by Jo going out to capture the sunrise. I stayed in bed a little longer before making us coffee and then going to see the sun just appearing over the horizon.

As we were awake early it was also a chance to have an early start to our cliff top walk to Orakawa bay. It was refreshing not walking in  the heat of the day. Having arrived at the bay just after 9.30 we tried to find the nearby William Wright  falls. Hopefully there would be some water flowing over it.

Soon we were to find that our decision might not have been the best. First off we lost sight of the track markers making a detour into unknown territory. Having realised our mistake we back tracked and picked up the correct route. Again our effort was in vain as after several river crossings we ended up trying to force our way along a track over grown with cutty grass. Being the fearless adventurers we are we gave up, turned around and returned to the safety of Justin.
